Bungalows and outer-London houses

Out towards the edge of London and beyond, the housing changes again: more detached homes, more bungalows, and more render that was applied directly to the wall decades ago and has now started to let go. Once render loses its bond it comes away in sheets, and whatever is behind it gets wet.

On this Hertfordshire bungalow the old render had failed along the base of the wall. We stripped it back, fixed insulation boards and finished the whole house in a new render system.

New builds too

We also render on new builds, working alongside the main contractor. On this Brentwood development we rendered the feature piers and panels between the brickwork, where crisp edges and straight lines are the whole point.

How a job runs

A surveyor visits, looks at the whole elevation and checks the wall build-up, damp risks, access and the planning position for your address. You get an itemised written quote that separates preparation, the system or repair proposed, detailing around windows and sills, and scaffolding. On site the preparation is done first and properly, each coat is given its curing time, and the job ends with inspection, sign-off and warranty paperwork.

Do you work outside London?

Yes, in the areas just beyond it. We also work in Hertfordshire and Essex, including towns such as Potters Bar, Borehamwood, Cheshunt, Watford, Brentwood, Loughton and Epping. Send your postcode and we will confirm.

Can you insulate a bungalow?

Often, yes. Bungalows have a lot of exposed wall for their size, and many are solid-wall or have render that has started to fail. We check the wall, the base detail and the eaves at survey before recommending a system.

Do you work for developers and main contractors?

Yes. Alongside homeowners, we render on new-build developments and blocks, working to the contractor's programme, access and specification.
