The houses we see in South London

Inner South London, around Lambeth, Lewisham, Southwark and Wandsworth, is largely Victorian and Edwardian terraces. Further out, in Croydon, Bromley, Bexley and Sutton, the interwar semi takes over: two-storey bays, a gable over the front and, very often, an original render or pebbledash finish that has cracked, stained or been painted over one time too many.
